Team Emancipate is part of a coalition of people and organizations working to register formerly-incarcerated people to vote. A recent court decision restored the franchise to people with felony convictions who are serving probation, parole, or post-release supervision.
So far, the coalition has reached out to 29,000 of the 55,000 eligible voters via text message. The coalition has also held in-person voter registration and education events in New Bern, Durham, Hickory, and Raleigh.
We will continue these efforts together until the deadline to register to vote.
We will vote for freedom.
