Another courtroom win—and the fight continues

On May 20, 2025, Attorney Dillon Sharpe represented a Don’t Plead to Weed client in a Wake County District Court trial, presided over by Judge Christopher Brooks.

Our client faced multiple charges, including:

  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia
  • Driving While License Revoked (DWLR)
  • Window Tint Violation

The case began when a Morrisville police officer stopped our client for an alleged window tint violation. Backup was called, including a K-9 unit. The drug dog allegedly alerted to the vehicle, which was packed with bags and belongings—our client was in the process of moving. Officers spent nearly 30 minutes searching the car, eventually claiming to find marijuana.

At trial, the State called just one officer to testify—not the K9 handler. The alleged marijuana was neither weighed nor chemically tested.

Judge Brooks ruled as follows:

✔️ Granted our motion to dismiss the DWLR charge

✔️ Found our client not guilty of:

  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia

The fight continues. Always remember: Don’t Plead to Weed. Make Them Prove It.
