Kerwin Pittman recently served as the featured speaker for an internal speaker series hosted by REFORM Alliance, an organization founded by leaders including Meek Mill, JAY-Z, Michael Rubin, Robert Kraft, and Robert F. Smith>, all committed to transforming probation and parole systems across the country.

Reflecting on the opportunity, Pittman shared how meaningful it was to go from personally navigating incarceration and supervision to now helping shape national conversations around reform. During the discussion, he spoke about founding RREPS, the realities of supervision, the importance of second chances, and becoming the first formerly incarcerated person in U.S. history to purchase a prison and transform it into a space centered on healing and opportunity.

Pittman emphasized the power of lived experience, noting that the same experiences that once brought struggle can now help shape solutions, influence reform, prevent incarceration, and create pathways for people returning home.

As he reflected, “Redemption truly is turning your story into something that helps change the lives of others.”
