Emancipate NC Executive Director Dawn Blagrove is continuing to raise concerns about the constitutional implications of new police surveillance technology in a recent Public News Service story titled “NC police department tracker tech raises constitutional questions.”

In the article, Blagrove explains that attaching a tracking device to a person’s vehicle constitutes a search under the Fourth Amendment and may violate protections against unreasonable searches and seizures if deployed without proper safeguards.

The story highlights growing concerns among civil rights advocates about how emerging surveillance tools are used and the need for clear accountability and constitutional protections.
