On September 19, Dawn presented the 2024 Summer Reading Program Lecture at Meredith College. The title of her talk was “Flex Our Citizenship Muscle: Creating a Physically Fit Democracy.”

“Voting will not save us. But not voting will doom us,” Dawn said, telling students to develop a voting plan so they are ready for any obstacles they may encounter.

Also on September 19, for the third year, Dawn was a guest lecturer at the annual Constitution Day event at NC A&T University. Her talk concerned the existential threat Project 2025 presents for the US Constitution. A student came up to Dawn after her lecture and said that learning about the potential impact of 2025 reminded her that her vote matters and has power. Dawn is educating and influencing the youth in our communities!

On September 28, Dawn presented, with Brenda McNair and Val Applewhite, “Project 2025: A Blueprint for Dictatorship”.
