Today, Emancipate NC heads to court to demand the full, unredacted release of the Durham County Jail’s policies on the use of restraint chairs and solitary confinement.
Both practices have long been linked to serious physical and psychological harm. Yet the public still doesn’t know how — or how often — they are being used in Durham County. Emancipate NC believes that communities have the right to know what is being done in their name, behind jail walls.
