Unarmed community response teams – including EMTs, mental health clinicians, and peer support specialists – have proven to reduce crime, hospitalizations, and jail populations. The City of Raleigh is very close to fulfilling the desire of Raleigh residents for such teams through an alternative response program. The last step is to establish the community response teams with the help of Wake County.
What can you do? Sign the letter and tell County Commissioners to support this initiative and bring community response teams to Raleigh. We’re so close! We need less than 100 signatures to meet our goal. Let’s make this happen!
