In light of Wake County Superior Court Judge Collins’ puzzling decision to publicly release body camera footage from Daniel Turcios’ police killing, while shielding the footage from an illegal Raleigh police No Knock home raid on innocent civilians, Emancipate NC has sent the following letter to the Raleigh City Council. We ask the Raleigh City Council to petition the court to release this footage in the public’s compelling interest in transparency, as the Durham City Council has recently done twice.
