Join us on Saturday, June 28 in Gastonia, NC to celebrate a hard-won milestone: La’Dainian Fuller is finally off probation.
At just 15 years old, La’Dainian witnessed a police officer kick and abuse his twin brother during an aggressive stop over street closures for a fireworks show. Acting to protect his brother, La’Dainian placed the officer in a headlock — a decision that led Gaston County District Attorney Travis Page to charge him, a child with developmental disabilities, as an adult with Attempted Murder.
The officer suffered only minor bruising and did not require medical care. Charges against La’Dainian’s twin were dropped due to his lack of capacity — yet La’Dainian endured a traumatic legal ordeal, including an adult sentence and probation.
Now, after years of injustice, La’Dainian can finally move forward in freedom.
