Last Friday, after revealing the videos to his family, the Raleigh Police Department released the bodycam and security camera footage of its officers tasing Darryl Williams to death. The recordings capture the violence with which multiple officers escalated an unprovoked search of Williams and his car that led to his murder.

In the press inquiries that followed, Emancipate’s Dawn Blagrove and Kerwin Pittman spoke on behalf of Williams’ family. They reiterated calls for undelayed accountability, especially in the form of the demands the Raleigh Demands Justice coalition have put to the Raleigh city council:
