The second annual Emancipate NC continuing legal education conference was a huge success. With a great turnout local activists, lawyers, and law students came together on three main panel topics.
In the first panel with Jaelyn Miller, Bex Kolins, Quisha Mallette, and a doxxing defense activist, folks heard about a range of perspectives on protest defense from activists, journalists, and lawyers. The second panel with Wendy Sotolongo, Jessica Fludd, and Margaux Lander focused on the family policing system and the need for more and improved representation of parents in Abuse, Neglect, and Dependency Court. Lastly, Elizabeth Simpson, Dawn Blagrove, and Jessica Fludd talked about human-centered representation.
Stay tuned for next year!
