Emancipate NC represents protesters charged with offenses related to civil disobedience, as well as administering a network of justice-aligned attorneys in North Carolina who offer pro bono representation to protesters.
Recently, Emancipate NC attorney Jaelyn Miller represented an individual with the group Triangle Stop Cop City who had been charged with Injury to Real Property following a noise demonstration in defense of the Atlanta Forest and saying no to gentrification, environmental destruction, and police militarization. The demonstration in Raleigh called attention to the destruction of hundreds of acres of public forest in Atlanta for use as a police training facility.
All the charges were dismissed on October 30th, 2023 in Wake County!
